Belangrijkste verschillen: The Florida Pompano has much shorter dorsal and anal fins that are not nearly as elongated or sickle-shaped as those of the Permit. It also typically has a more yellowish coloration on its belly and fins, and usually 22-27 soft rays in the anal fin compared to 18-20 for the Permit.
