• Diet: carnivore
• Minimum tank size: 1000 gallons (for adult specimens)
• Compatibility: Generally compatible with other large, robust marine fish that can withstand its size and occasional territorial behavior. Not suitable for reef tanks or with smaller, docile species.
• Special requirements: Requires a very large tank with excellent filtration and strong water movement. Juveniles can be kept in smaller tanks initially but will quickly outgrow them. A sand or fine gravel substrate is preferred as they are bottom feeders. Live or frozen meaty foods are essential. Not commonly kept in home aquaria due to their size and specific needs.
