• Minimum tank size: 500 liters (130 gallons) for a single adult
• Compatibility: Best kept alone or with very large, robust, and equally aggressive fish that cannot be swallowed. Not suitable for community tanks with smaller fish.
• Special requirements: Requires a large tank with plenty of hiding spots (caves, driftwood, rocks). Excellent filtration is essential due to its large size and predatory diet. Substrate should be soft to prevent injury to its barbels. Can be sensitive to poor water quality.
