Geographic range

Widespread in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean, including the Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, and along the coast of Africa from the Bay of Biscay to South Africa. Also found in the Western Indian Ocean, including the Red Sea and Persian Gulf.
