• Compatibility: Best kept in a species-specific tank or with other cool-water, peaceful native fish of similar size. Avoid aggressive or fin-nipping species.
• Special requirements: Requires excellent water quality, strong aeration, and a well-oxygenated environment. A riverine setup with good flow, smooth rocks, and hiding places is ideal. They are jumpers, so a secure lid is essential. Landlocked populations may adapt better to aquarium life than migratory forms.
