• Minimum tank size: 750 gallons
• Compatibility: Requires a very large, specialized tank. Can be housed with other large, robust, non-aggressive fish that are not small enough to be considered prey. Not suitable for typical community aquariums.
• Special requirements: Requires a very large footprint tank with a soft sand substrate to allow for burrowing. Excellent filtration is essential due to their messy feeding habits. Live food or high-quality frozen seafood (shrimp, squid, clam, fish pieces) should be offered. Due to their venomous spine, extreme caution is necessary during tank maintenance.
