• Compatibility: Excellent with other peaceful, similarly sized fish. Avoid housing with aggressive or very large fish that might prey on them. Best kept in groups of 5 or more.
• Special requirements: Requires a soft, sandy substrate (at least 5-10 cm deep) for burrowing, plenty of hiding places (rocks, driftwood, dense planting), and good water quality with moderate flow. They are sensitive to poor water conditions and high nitrate levels. A secure lid is essential as they can jump.
