• Minimum tank size: 150 gallons (for larger species, smaller species may require 50-75 gallons)
• Compatibility: Generally best kept as a solitary specimen or in a species-specific tank. Can be housed with very large, robust, and equally aggressive fish, but extreme caution is advised. Not suitable for community tanks.
• Special requirements: A tightly fitting lid is essential as they are expert jumpers and can escape. Provide ample hiding spots with driftwood, rocks, and dense vegetation. A substrate of sand or fine gravel is preferred. Excellent filtration is necessary due to their predatory diet. Regular water changes are crucial. Some species require a cooler winter dormancy period.
