Atlantic Salmon

Vigtige forskelle: Atlantic Salmon typically have fewer, larger, and more rounded black spots, primarily above the lateral line, and rarely on the operculum (gill cover). Their caudal fin is more deeply forked, especially in younger individuals. Internally, Atlantic Salmon have a single row of vomerine teeth, whereas Havørred have a zig-zag or double row. The jaw of Atlantic Salmon typically does not extend beyond the eye.
Brown Trout (freshwater resident form)

Vigtige forskelle: Genetically the same species, but the freshwater resident form (fario) does not migrate to sea. It retains its darker, more camouflaged freshwater coloration (brownish with prominent black and red spots) throughout its life and does not develop the silvery marine phase. It generally does not grow as large as the anadromous Havørred.
Rainbow Trout
