Temel farklar: O. niloticus typically has distinct vertical bars on the caudal fin, which are usually absent or much fainter in O. aureus. O. niloticus also tends to have a more pointed snout and a slightly different dorsal fin ray count (15-17 spines, 11-13 soft rays for O. aureus vs. 15-18 spines, 10-14 soft rays for O. niloticus, with some overlap).
