Temel Bilgiler
Grunting Soundbehavior
White Grunts produce a distinctive 'grunting' sound by grinding their pharyngeal teeth together, which is then amplified by their swim bladder. This sound is often heard when they are caught or disturbed.
Nocturnal Foragersbehavior
While they form large schools during the day over reefs, White Grunts disperse at night to forage for small invertebrates in adjacent seagrass beds and sandy areas.
Cleaning Stationsbehavior
Juvenile White Grunts are known to act as cleaner fish, removing parasites from larger fish at designated cleaning stations on reefs.
Longevityinteresting
White Grunts can live for up to 10-12 years in the wild.
Güvenlik Bilgileri
Güvenli- Güvenlik seviyesi: safe
- Zehirli: Hayır
- Yenilebilirlik: edible
- Tutma notları: While not venomous, like all fish, it possesses sharp fin spines (especially the dorsal and anal fins) that can cause painful punctures if not handled carefully. Use gloves or a fish gripper when handling to avoid injury.
