Distribuição geográfica

Widely distributed globally in temperate and subtropical waters of the Atlantic, Indian, and western Pacific Oceans. Absent from the eastern Pacific. Notable populations exist along the eastern coast of North America, the Mediterranean Sea, the Black Sea, the coast of West Africa, and off Australia and South Africa.
