Viktige forskjeller: Haddock has a distinct black lateral line (vs. pale in cod), a prominent black 'thumbprint' spot (St. Peter's mark) above the pectoral fin, and a smaller chin barbel. Its first dorsal fin is also typically taller and more pointed.
Pollock (Saithe)

Viktige forskjeller: Pollock has a straight, pale lateral line (vs. curved in cod), a much smaller or absent chin barbel, and a more streamlined, torpedo-shaped body. Its coloration is typically darker, often uniformly dark green to black on the back.

Viktige forskjeller: Whiting has a more slender body, a less prominent chin barbel (sometimes absent in adults), and a dark spot at the base of the pectoral fin. Its lateral line is also less distinctly curved than that of cod.
Pacific Cod

Viktige forskjeller: While very similar morphologically, Pacific Cod is geographically separated (Pacific Ocean) and generally has a larger head and slightly different fin ray counts. Genetic analysis is often required for definitive differentiation where ranges might overlap in Arctic regions.
