Differenze chiave: Historically considered a subspecies of G. affinis, G. holbrooki is now recognized as a distinct species. Morphologically very similar, but G. holbrooki typically has a more pronounced dark teardrop mark below the eye and a slightly different gonopodial structure in males. Their native ranges are largely allopatric, with G. holbrooki native to the Atlantic slope drainages of the US.
