Black Arowana
Osteoglossum ferreirai
Perbedaan utama: Distinguished by its darker, often blackish or dark grey coloration, especially as a juvenile, and a more pointed snout. Adults retain a darker hue compared to the silvery O. bicirrhosum. Juveniles of O. ferreirai have a prominent black lateral stripe that fades with age, which is absent in O. bicirrhosum.
Asian Arowana

Perbedaan utama: Asian Arowanas have much larger, more iridescent scales with distinct patterns (e.g., gold, red, green). Their body shape is generally deeper and less elongated than the Silver Arowana. They also possess barbels, but their overall appearance, especially coloration and scale texture, is distinctly different. Asian Arowanas are also geographically distinct, found in Southeast Asia.
African Arowana

Perbedaan utama: While also an arowana relative, the African Arowana has a much smaller mouth, lacks barbels, and has a more subdued, brownish-grey coloration. Its scales are also smaller and less prominent than those of Osteoglossum species. It is a filter feeder, unlike the predatory Osteoglossum.
