• Minimum tank size: 500 gallons (approximately 1890 liters) for a single adult
• Compatibility: Not suitable for community aquariums. Best kept alone or with very large, robust, non-aggressive species that cannot be consumed.
• Special requirements: Requires a very large tank with excellent filtration and stable water parameters. Live food (small fish, shrimp) is essential. Substrate should be soft sand or fine gravel to allow for partial burial. Dim lighting is preferred. Not commonly kept in home aquariums due to size, specialized diet, and predatory nature.
