Geographic range

Northeast Atlantic Ocean, from the Norwegian coast (south of Trondheim) southwards to the Bay of Biscay, and extending into the Mediterranean Sea (western basin) and along the coasts of Portugal and Morocco. Also found around the British Isles and Ireland.
