• Compatibility: Generally compatible with other large, peaceful coldwater fish. Avoid very small fish that could be seen as prey, or aggressive species.
• Special requirements: Requires a well-filtered tank with plenty of hiding spots among plants and driftwood. A soft, muddy or sandy substrate is preferred as they like to root around. Good aeration is important, especially at higher temperatures. Can be kept in outdoor ponds in suitable climates.
