• Compatibility: Highly aggressive and territorial. Best kept alone or in very large aquariums with other robust, similarly sized, and equally aggressive cichlids or large catfish. Not suitable for community tanks with smaller or docile fish.
• Special requirements: Requires a very large aquarium with strong filtration due to its size and waste production. Provide plenty of hiding places and visual barriers using rocks, caves, and driftwood. Substrate should be sand or fine gravel as they are diggers. Regular large water changes are essential to maintain water quality. Can be prone to jumping, so a secure lid is necessary.
