Circumpolar distribution in the Northern Hemisphere. In North America, found across Alaska, northern Canada, and historically in parts of the contiguous United States (Montana, Michigan - now extirpated from Michigan). In Eurasia, found across northern Russia, Siberia, and parts of Scandinavia.
