• Compatibility: Generally compatible with other peaceful to semi-aggressive fish of similar size. Avoid very small fish that could be seen as prey, and overly aggressive species that might harass them. Best kept with other Synodontis species or larger tetras, cichlids (non-aggressive), and other bottom dwellers.
• Special requirements: Requires a well-filtered aquarium with plenty of hiding places such as caves, driftwood, and dense planting. Subdued lighting is preferred as they are nocturnal. A sandy or fine gravel substrate is ideal to protect their delicate barbels. They appreciate a moderate current.
