• Temperament: semi-aggressive
• Diet: carnivore
• Minimum tank size: Not suitable for home aquaria due to size and specialized needs; requires very large, specialized public aquarium setups.
• Compatibility: Not compatible with most other fish due to predatory nature and size. Best kept in species-specific exhibits or with very large, robust species.
• Special requirements: Requires extremely large tanks with extensive filtration, strong water flow, and a deep sand/gravel substrate for burrowing. Specialized feeding protocols for live or fresh dead prey are necessary. Not recommended for private aquarists.
