• Compatibility: Best kept in a species-specific tank or with other cold-water, similarly sized, non-aggressive fish. Avoid housing with smaller fish they might prey upon.
• Special requirements: Requires highly oxygenated, clean, cold water with strong filtration. A chiller is often necessary to maintain optimal temperatures. Provide plenty of hiding spots with rocks and driftwood, and a fine gravel or sand substrate. They are sensitive to poor water quality and high temperatures.
