• Special requirements: Mollies thrive in tanks with good filtration and regular water changes. They appreciate planted tanks with open swimming spaces. While they can tolerate pure freshwater, adding a small amount of aquarium salt (1-2 teaspoons per gallon) can improve their health and coloration, especially for P. latipinna derived forms, as it mimics their natural brackish habitats. Males can be territorial, so a ratio of 2-3 females per male is recommended to disperse aggression.
