Keeping Mudskipper in an aquarium requires the right conditions.

• Minimum tank size: 30 gallons (for a single specimen, larger for groups)
• Compatibility: Best kept in a species-specific paludarium. Can be housed with other mudskipper species if ample space and hiding spots are provided, but inter-species aggression can occur. Avoid housing with typical aquatic fish.
• Special requirements: Requires a paludarium setup with significant land area (at least 50% of the tank footprint) consisting of fine sand or mud, and shallow brackish water. High humidity is crucial. Provide plenty of hiding spots, roots, and rocks on the land portion. Excellent filtration is necessary, and a tight-fitting lid is essential to prevent escapes.
