• Compatibility: Generally not compatible with other fish due to their predatory nature. Can be housed with very large, robust, and fast-moving species that they cannot swallow. Best kept in species-specific tanks.
• Special requirements: Requires a very large, well-established aquarium with ample hiding places (caves, overhangs). Excellent filtration and strong water movement are essential. Live rock and sand substrate are beneficial. They are ambush predators and require live or fresh dead fish/crustaceans for feeding. Due to their size and specialized needs, they are rarely kept by private aquarists and are more suited for public aquariums.
