• Compatibility: Can be kept with other peaceful to semi-aggressive fish of similar size that do not nip fins. Avoid very aggressive or fin-nipping species. Best kept singly or in very large tanks with multiple individuals to diffuse aggression.
• Special requirements: Require a well-filtered tank with plenty of hiding places (caves, driftwood, dense planting). Substrate should be fine sand to protect their delicate snouts. Dim lighting is preferred. The presence of an electric field can interfere with other electroreceptive fish, so careful tankmate selection is crucial. They are sensitive to water quality and medications.
