• Minimum tank size: 1000 gallons (for adults)
• Compatibility: Not suitable for community tanks. Best kept alone or with other very large, robust, and equally aggressive fish that cannot be swallowed. Requires careful consideration due to rapid growth and predatory nature.
• Special requirements: Requires a very large tank with excellent filtration due to high bioload. Needs ample swimming space and hiding spots. Can be sensitive to poor water quality. Juveniles can be kept in smaller tanks but will quickly outgrow them. Can tolerate a wide range of salinities, but freshwater is generally preferred for aquaculture and home aquaria.
