• Minimum tank size: 500 gallons (for adult specimens)
• Compatibility: Generally not suitable for typical home aquariums due to their large size and predatory nature. Can be kept with other very large, robust fish in extremely large, specialized setups.
• Special requirements: Requires very large tanks with excellent filtration due to their size and waste production. Needs plenty of hiding spots (caves, large PVC pipes) and a soft substrate to prevent injury to barbels. Not recommended for beginners.
