• Diet: carnivore
• Minimum tank size: 2000 gallons (7570 liters) for a single adult
• Compatibility: Not suitable for community tanks. Can only be kept with other very large, robust, and equally aggressive fish, or preferably alone. Cannibalism is a risk, especially with size disparities.
• Special requirements: Requires an extremely large aquarium with powerful filtration to handle significant bioload. Strong water flow is beneficial. Provide ample open swimming space and secure, heavy decorations that cannot be easily moved. Live or frozen whole fish, large crustaceans, and other meaty foods are required. Due to its predatory nature and size, it is not recommended for most home aquarists.
