• Compatibility: Generally peaceful with other brackish water species of similar size and temperament. Avoid very small fish that could be mistaken for food, and overly aggressive tank mates. Best kept in groups of 3 or more.
• Special requirements: Requires brackish water (specific gravity 1.005-1.015, gradually increasing with age). A fine sand substrate is essential for burrowing. Needs excellent filtration to handle its filter-feeding waste and maintain water quality. Dim lighting and plenty of hiding places (PVC pipes, driftwood, rocks) are beneficial. Sensitive to sudden changes in water parameters.
