Geographic range

Western Atlantic Ocean from Rhode Island, USA, to southern Brazil, including the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. Eastern Atlantic Ocean from Cape Verde to Gabon. Also found in the Eastern Pacific Ocean from Baja California to Peru.
