Key differences: F. longirostris has an even longer snout than F. flavissimus, often appearing disproportionately long. Its head coloration is typically more mottled brown or black, and the demarcation between the head and body color is less sharp. It also lacks the distinct black spot on the anal fin that is characteristic of F. flavissimus. F. longirostris can also exhibit a darker, sometimes brownish-yellow body coloration, whereas F. flavissimus is consistently bright yellow.
