• Compatibility: Generally not suitable for community tanks due to size, specialized needs, and potential for predation. Best kept in species-specific tanks or with very large, robust, and non-aggressive fish that occupy different water columns.
• Special requirements: Requires a very large tank with a soft sand substrate to allow for burrowing. Excellent filtration is crucial due to their messy eating habits. Tank must be wide and long, not just tall, to accommodate their swimming style. Avoid sharp decorations. Live food or high-quality frozen meaty foods are essential. Not recommended for home aquarists due to their size, specialized care, and venomous nature.
