Keeping Mundu in an aquarium requires the right conditions.

• Diet: carnivore
• Minimum tank size: 75 liters (20 gallons)
• Compatibility: Best kept in a species-specific tank or with other small, peaceful, non-fin-nipping characins or catfishes that can tolerate similar water parameters. Avoid keeping with very active or aggressive species, or those small enough to be considered prey.
• Special requirements: Requires a well-planted aquarium with plenty of hiding spots, including dense vegetation, driftwood, and leaf litter (e.g., Indian almond leaves) to mimic its natural blackwater habitat. Dim lighting is preferred. A secure lid is essential as they can jump.
