• Minimum tank size: 20 gallons (for smaller species, larger for others)
• Compatibility: Generally compatible with other peaceful community fish. Some larger species may predate on very small invertebrates or fry. Best kept in groups of their own kind.
• Special requirements: Require well-oxygenated water, fine substrate (sand or smooth gravel) for burrowing, and plenty of hiding places (caves, driftwood, plants). Many species are sensitive to poor water quality and require stable parameters.
