Keeping Charal in an aquarium requires the right conditions.

• Minimum tank size: 30 gallons
• Compatibility: Best kept in a species-specific tank or with other peaceful, similarly sized fish that prefer similar water conditions. Avoid aggressive or very large tank mates.
• Special requirements: Requires clean, well-oxygenated water with good filtration. A planted tank with open swimming areas is ideal. They are schooling fish, so a group of at least 6-8 individuals is recommended to reduce stress and encourage natural behavior.
