Environment

Native to clear, flowing rivers and their tributaries, as well as floodplains and oxbow lakes. They prefer areas with abundant hiding places such as submerged roots, driftwood, rock crevices, and dense vegetation. During the rainy season, they migrate to flooded areas for spawning. The substrate is usually sand or fine gravel.

Geographic range

Native to the islands of Sumatra and Borneo in Southeast Asia (Indonesia and Malaysia).
