• Compatibility: Best kept in a species-specific tank or with robust, similarly sized, non-aggressive fish that can tolerate similar water parameters. Avoid fin-nippers or overly boisterous tankmates. Can be kept in pairs or a single male with multiple females in a sufficiently large aquarium.
• Special requirements: Requires a well-planted aquarium with plenty of hiding spots, driftwood, and leaf litter to mimic its natural habitat. A dark substrate is preferred to bring out their colors. Good filtration with gentle flow is essential. They are labyrinth fish, so access to the water surface for atmospheric air breathing is crucial. A tight-fitting lid is necessary as they are jumpers.
