• Special requirements: Requires a highly oxygenated aquarium with strong water flow, mimicking its natural hillstream habitat. A powerhead or strong filter outflow directed along the substrate is essential. The tank should be well-established with smooth rocks and pebbles for grazing and clinging, and driftwood for additional surfaces. Excellent water quality with low nitrates is paramount. They are sensitive to elevated temperatures and poor water conditions.
