Keeping Triggerfish in an aquarium requires the right conditions.

• Minimum tank size: 120 gallons (for smaller species, larger for others)
• Compatibility: Generally not compatible with smaller, peaceful fish or invertebrates. Best kept in FOWLR (Fish Only With Live Rock) tanks with other large, aggressive species. Some species can be kept singly or in very large tanks with specific tankmates.
• Special requirements: Require ample hiding places and strong filtration. Their powerful jaws and teeth necessitate careful selection of tank decor (avoid easily damaged items). They are known to rearrange aquascaping. Some species may nip at corals or sessile invertebrates.
