Widely distributed in the Atlantic Ocean. In the Western Atlantic, from Nova Scotia, Canada, south to Argentina, including the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. In the Eastern Atlantic, from the British Isles south to Angola, including the Mediterranean Sea.
