• Minimum tank size: 30 gallons for smaller species, 50+ gallons for larger species
• Compatibility: Not compatible with small fish or invertebrates, as they will be eaten. Best kept in a species-specific tank or with other large, robust, non-aggressive fish that cannot be swallowed.
• Special requirements: Requires a well-established aquarium with plenty of live rock or other decor for camouflage and perching. Excellent filtration is essential due to their carnivorous diet. They are sensitive to poor water quality. Live food (e.g., ghost shrimp, feeder fish) is often required, as they may not accept frozen foods initially. Avoid strong currents.
