• Compatibility: Best kept in species-specific tanks or with very large, robust, and fast-moving fish that cannot be swallowed. Avoid small or slow-moving tank mates.
• Special requirements: Eels require a securely covered tank as they are expert escape artists. They need plenty of hiding places (caves, PVC pipes) and a soft substrate to burrow in. Excellent filtration is crucial due to their carnivorous diet. They are nocturnal feeders and may require target feeding.
