• Compatibility: Generally not suitable for community tanks due to predatory nature and size. Can be kept with other large, robust fish if the tank is sufficiently large and hides are provided.
• Special requirements: Requires a very secure lid as they are expert escape artists. Needs plenty of hiding places (e.g., PVC pipes, driftwood, rocks). Excellent filtration is essential due to their messy eating habits. Not recommended for typical home aquariums due to their size, specific needs, and conservation status.
