Eastern Atlantic Ocean, including the Macaronesian islands (Azores, Madeira, Canary Islands, Cape Verde), and extending to the coast of West Africa. Also reported in the Mediterranean Sea, likely as a Lessepsian migrant or through ship-mediated introductions.
